The module is in 9 parts & should take ~1 hour & 45 minutes  to finish.

  • LANG 1408  & LANG 2070 Due Dates:
    • Friday 14 Feb - Finish going through the module (end of week 2)

Why Do This? What's the Point?

As a university student, you will be expected to demonstrate a deeper level of understanding, beyond relying on opinions, "common sense", or a quick response.

Here, you will build your capacity to question, and then search, find, and use more academic information than the average non-university graduate.

Intended Learning Outcomes

After going through this module, you will be able to:

  • Create and develop good questions for research
  • Identify various types of academic (scholarly)  information types  (sources) for social science and humanities students
  • Choose appropriate search tools and use appropriate methods to find useful academic  information.
  • Cite sources properly according to APA style guidelines.

In order to...

Short term: Complete your course projects (like your infographic presentation) fruitfully.

Long term:  Prepare yourself for future studies in the university and living as an informed and engaged human being.

These outcomes link to LANG 1408's intended learning outcome of: "Identify, evaluate, select, critique, integrate, and cite relevant information from science-related sources to provide evidence-based arguments".
