How to Make Your Work Open Access

This guide provides general information and resources about open access and scholarly publishing to HKUST researchers. You will also find information about the author accepted manuscript requirement by the University.

Example from RSC

RSC Author's Accepted Manuscript (AAM) RSC Version of Record

https://hdl.handle.net/1783.1/98725
(Link to SPD record)

https://doi.org/10.1039/c9lc00192a
(Publisher's page)

A typical look of AAM - without publisher's typesetting and formatting. However, content in AAM should be very close to that of VoR.
Well formatted, with Publisher logo, volume, issue no. and pagination (continous page numbers), and copyright information.

Example from IEEE

IEEE Author's Accepted Manuscript (AAM) IEEE Version of Record

https://hdl.handle.net/1783.1/115906
(Link to SPD record)

https://doi.org/10.1109/TRO.2021.3133730
(Publisher's page)

For IEEE journals, the AAM looks very similar to VoR because normally IEEE manuscripts need to be prepared using the journal's standard LaTeX template. Content in AAM should be very close to that of VoR too.
Well formatted, with volume, issue no. and pagination (continous page numbers), and copyright information.
