WisersOne = 慧眼輿情  | Quick Start Guide - from HKPolyU Pao Yue-kong Library
  1. Select "Wiser Information Portal" on the upper right hand corner.
     
  2. Click Advanced Search to expand the Advanced Search form.
     
  3. This database supports both Chinese and English keyword searching. Enter your terms in the search box. You can also use the following commands to build your search statements.
     
    • AND - to find articles containing both the first and the second terms
       
    • OR - to find articles containing either the first or the second term or both terms.
       
    • Parentheses - to specify the order search terms are combined.
       
    • Phrase searching - enclose an English term in double quotation marks to ensure it is searched as a phrase. Chinese terms are searched as phrases by default.
       
  4. Region, Database, and Media Type are options that give you more flexibility to search, but if you have to search particular newspapers (e.g. the Standard and China Daily), leave these search options unchanged.
     
  5. Change the date range (up to 5-year max.).
     
  1. In the Source option, select Hong Kong from the first drop down menu. To add the newspapers to your search, enter the title (e.g. South China Morning Post) in the search box and then click Search.  
     
  2. Click the "X" button to close the pop up window. Finally, click Search at the top of the Advanced Search Form.
     
  3. On the search result page, click the news title to open the full-text. To start a new search, select the Wisers Information Portal on the upper left hand corner.
     
  4. To save, print or export articles, select Export .
