1. In Nexis Uni, under Guided Search, choose Cases, Jurisdiction, Dates and enter party name(s) and keywords in the search box to locate relevant results.
2. There are a lot of cases about Facebook and privacy. A Shepard's Signal indicator is integrated into a case to provide an immediate indication of the subsequent history and treatment of that particular case. If necessary, use options on the left to narrow down your search.
1. You may use Advanced Search to create a bit more sophisticated searches. On Nexis Uni homepage, click Advanced Search to access the Advanced Search Interface.
2. Choose the content type: Legal, the sub-content type: Cases, and further select, e.g. United States Cases.
3. Enter search terms, change first and second search fields to Party Name and Core Terms respectively, then scroll down to click the Search button for results.
4. Click on a result to view the case, further click the "Shepardize this document" link to find related cases.
For other legal publications (e.g. Statutes and Legislation), can also start with Advanced Search to locate them.
In Westlaw Asia, use the homepage “CONTENT TYPE” to conduct a search across multiple jurisdictions and all content types.
1. Enter search terms
2. Select a content type from the All drop-down menu, e.g. Cases
3. Select a jurisdiction, e.g. Hong Kong
4. Click Search to run the search for relevant results
Alternatively, use the left-side menu to start a search by content type.
