MGMT 2110 - Organizational Behavior (Fall 2024): Generative AI Tools

GenAI and Academic Integrity

At the university, maintaining academic integrity is essential. You must ensure that your academic work is honest and original, conducting research and writing your assignments independently, using your own ideas.

While GenAI can be a powerful aid in research, it also introduces new risks of plagiarism and the potential dilution of original thought. Therefore, it’s crucial to understand how to use these tools responsibly and ethically in your academic work.

Pay attention to the following points:

  • Never directly copy text from AI tools. Plagiarizing AI-generated content is still considered plagiarism.
  • Use AI as a tool to supplement (not replace) your own critical thinking.
  • Ensuring that your work primarily reflects your own ideas and efforts.
  • Verify all AI-generated information by cross-checking it with reliable sources.
  • Disclose your use of AI tools in your research methodology for transparency.

Ultimately, as a general rule for citation: Never cite anything that you have not read.
